Re-roofing
A metal re-roof, day by day
Most cabins take a few days and most larger homes a week or more. Panels are ordered to length ahead of time, and the date is written down before you sign.
- 01
Step 1: The day before
Layla calls to confirm the crew, where to park and where the dumpster goes. If you're away, tell us who has the gate code.
- 02
Step 2: Day one: off and dried in
The crew tarps the plants, strips the old roof and checks the deck. Any bad decking is priced by the sheet. Underlayment goes down the same day, so the house is dry at night.
- 03
Step 3: Next days: panels and trim
Panels go on eave to ridge. Drip edge, ridge, valley and wall flashing follow. Wisly checks every seam and fastener against the spec sheet.
- 04
Step 4: Last day: guards and clean-up
Snow guards go in where the drawing says. The crew sweeps the yard with a magnet for stray screws, and walks the roof with you or on a video call.
- 05
Step 5: After
You get the photos from the job, the panel maker's finish paperwork and our workmanship terms in writing.
Over shingles?
Sometimes we can leave the old roof on
Where building code allows one layer, panels can sometimes go over it on furring strips. We look in the attic and at the deck, and tell you in writing whether we recommend it.
Tear-off is its own line on the estimate, so you can see what leaving it costs and what taking it off costs.
One layer of shingles only
A deck that passes the attic check
Tear-off priced as its own line

Weather
What the mountains change
Cold weather
Panels can go on in the cold. We don't work on an iced or snow-covered roof, and we'll move the day.
Wind on ridges
Clip and fastener patterns follow the panel maker's wind guidance for your exposure. The spec sheet shows the pattern.
Fall color season
October is busy. Book your spec sheet by late summer if you want the roof on before snow.
Empty winters
Second home? We send photos each day and finish with a walk-through by video call.
